Thomas Lyster, D.O.
Tom Lyster, D.O. practices medicine in Allentown, PA. He went to the AAO Convocation in Colorado Springs in 1997 where he witnessed Dr. Typaldos' lecture on Triggerband Technique.  Lyster reports following Typaldos around for days and attending each presentation of the lecture.  Lyster took the FDM Seminar in Bangor in 1999 and returned to the clinic numerous times for hands-on training.  He took part in both the International FDM Symposium in Bangor (2001) and the one in Alaska (2005).  Like Typaldos, Lyster graduated from UHSCOM in Kansas City, MO.  Dr. Lyster is particularly interested in sports injuries including the subtle injuries that effect athletic performance but may not be causing pain or loss of motion.

Georg Harrer, M.D.
Georg Harrer, M.D. lives and practices medicine in Vienna, Austria.  Dr. Harrer went to the Vienna School of Osteopathy after graduating from medical school because he was never satisfied with what he learned in medical school.  During his osteopathic studies he met Dr. Typaldos in 1997 at a seminar in Vienna and was stunned by the lecture.  He came to Bangor in 1998 to find out if Typaldos actually practiced the FDM full time in his office.  Harrer had always been searching for something that made sense and finally found it in the FDM.  He has attended all three International FDM Seminars (Maine, Alaska and Hawaii) and has taught Level 1 FDM Seminars in the European Union since September 2001.  He helped found the EFDMA and is the president of that organization.

Mark Czarnecki, D.O.
Mark Czarnecki's medical practice is located in The Dalles, OR.  He happened to attend an FDM Seminar in Portland, OR in 1999 and was amazed at the unusual presentation.  He came to the seminar in Bangor just a few months later and Dr. Typaldos went out to Oregon several times because Dr. Czarnecki wanted to help spread the FDM to other physicians.  Czarnecki attended the first International FDM Symposium in Bangor in 2001.  Dr. Czarnecki has specialized in treating sports injuries and has treated many athletes of all levels.

Keisuke Tanaka, FDMO
Keisuke Tanaka was unable to attend Typaldos' seminar in Japan, but a friend introduced him to the FDM and Keisuke began using the treatments in his practice immediately.  He emailed Typaldos in 2000, wanting to know more about these wonderful treatments.  At that time, Tanaka did not speak English.  He studied many hours every day for 7 months so he could come to Bangor, Maine for the first International FDM Symposium in July 2001.  He came with the third edition of Typaldos' book already translated into Japanese, so he could study it.  Since then Tanaka has translated the Fourth Edition of the FDM text into Japanese and teaches workshops and seminars about the FDM in Japan.  He began the FAA (FDM Asia Association) and has developed a large group of FDM practitioners in his country.  Tanaka also attended the International FDM Symposiums in Alaska and Hawaii.  His practice is located in Fukuoka, Japan where he lives with his wife and two children.

Christoph Rossmy, D.O.
Christoph Rossmy, D.O. is from Haltern am See, Germany and met Dr. Typaldos at the German FDM Level 2 Seminar in 2003.  At the time he owned and ran a school of osteopathy and had just taken the Level 1 FDM Seminar from Georg Harrer.  Rossmy has since closed his school, written his thesis on FDM treatments of the shoulder, and received his degree in osteopathy.  His practice is full time FDM and he has developed methods of treating young children and infants with the FDM, including assessing their pain.  Rossmy has also successfully treated horses and dogs using FDM treatments.  He is the co-founder of the EFDMA and has attended International FDM Seminars in Alaska and Hawaii as well as coming to Bangor to learn from Dr. Typaldos in his clinic in 2004.

Ray Andreassen, D.O.
Although Ray Andreassen's father was Dr. Typaldos' mentor, he did not attend an FDM Seminar until 2002 in Portland, OR. Dr. Andreassen was responsible for introducing the FDM to Alaska and bringing Dr. Typaldos up there beginning in February 2004.  Dr. Andreassen's enthusiasm for Typaldos' work and FDM treatments has already won many enthusiastic doctors to get trained, including Gene Lenard, D.O.  Dr. Andreassen's practice is located in Delta Junction, AK and he too graduated from the same medical school as Typaldos.  Dr. Andreassen is the first president and a founding board member of the AFDMA, and is pictured here with his wife Karen.

Gene Lenard, D.O.
Gene Lenard lives and practices medicine in the San Diego area.  He witnessed Ray Andreassen's enthusiastic talk about the FDM Seminar he had recently attended and Lenard proceeded to call Typaldos' office and make an appointment to come to Maine.  He brought his wife and credits Typaldos with giving his wife her life back.  Dr. Lenard attended all three FDM Seminars in Alaska and the International FDM Symposiums in both Alaska and Hawaii.  He is a founding board member of the AFDMA and is pictured here with his wife Roberta.

Byron Perkins, D.O.
Byron Perkins practices medicine in Anchorage, Alaska and was excited about the FDM from his exposure at the first AKOMA meeting in February 2004.  He attended all three FDM Seminars in Alaska and the FDM International Symposiums in Alaska and Hawaii.  Perkins has introduced the FDM to numerous residents coming through his office and is beginning to collect data so he can make presentations at medical conferences.  Like the other Core Members, he finds the FDM indispensable in his medical practice.  Having grown up in Japan, he speaks fluent Japanese and has visited our friends in Japan and joined in a workshop with Tanaka there.  Perkins is also a founding board member of the AFDMA.

Kohei Iwata
Kohei Iwata is a Japanese osteopath, trained in the FDM by Keisuke Tanaka.  Iwata helped Tanaka found the FAA and attended the FDM Symposiums in both Alaska and Hawaii.

Marjorie and John Kasten
Marjorie Kasten, P.T. was an assistant to Dr. Typaldos for nine years, helping him with his book, seminars, web page, photography, editing, printing, and more.  As a physical therapist, Marjorie developed FDM Inversion Therapy to treat stubborn neck, back, hip and knee injuries and co-treated many patients with Typaldos over the years.  She now continues to provide Typaldos manual therapy treatments in her office in Bangor.  She is also the Executive Director of the AFDMA and webmaster of the FDM web sites.  Her husband John was a trusted advisor to Typaldos and also an assistant editor for his book.  John is a counselor by profession and a founding board member of the AFDMA.

William Smith, M.D.
Bill Smith practices Industrial Medicine in Seattle, WA.  He first learned of the FDM when he visited Ray Andreassen's office in Delta Junction, AK.  Smith always knew that there had to be a better way to treat soft tissue injuries and calls the FDM the "Holy Grail" of soft tissue injuries.  He sees great savings for companies who provide FDM treatments for their employees because the injuries are fixed so quickly that work time loss is minimal.  Smith attended the FDM Seminar and International Symposium in Anchorage, Alaska in 2005 and visited Dr. Typaldos for over a week in his clinic in order to improve his FDM manipulative skills and to learn more about how he could help promote the FDM to industry.

Paula Colescott, M.D.
Paula Colescott is another Alaska physician who attended all three Alaska FDM seminars sponsored by AKOMA.  Dr. Colescott is an internal medicine specialist and developed her FDM skills while working with Dr. Perkins at Cornerstone Clinic in Anchorage.  She is currently completing an Addiction Medicine Fellowship at the University of Hawaii.  Colescott also attended the International FDM Symposium in Alaska and is a founding board member of the AFDMA.
