Dr. Ethan M. Kreiswirth owns Kreiswirth Sports Medicine Systems which delivers didactic and clinical programming of sports medicine education. Currently, Dr. Kreiswirth is consulting with the Chinese Olympic Committee providing sports medicine mentorships overseas and in the United States. Moreover, Dr. Kreiswirth is the Medical Director and Coordinator for the International and United States Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (USBJJF). Kreiswirth Sports Medicine Systems has been providing medical coverage for the USBJJF and International (IBJJF) since the late 1990s. Additionally, Kreiswirth was the Director of Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) at Concordia University, Irvine (CUI) in Orange County, California from 2008 to 2011.
Dr. Kreiswirth’s additional accolades include 11 years as the Head Athletic Trainer of California State University, Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) from 1997-2008, where he also served as adjunct faculty in the Kinesiology Department. Prior to CSUDH, Ethan was Head Athletic Trainer (ATC) in the Minor League Baseball system with the Sonoma County Crushers. He also served as a Football Assistant ATC at Santa Monica College in the mid-1990s.
Ethan received his undergraduate and graduate degrees from California State University, Dominguez Hills. Dr. Kreiswirth has earned his PhD in Athletic Training from Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions in Athletic Training. His current research is; The Epidemiology of Musculoskeletal Injuries among Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Fighters. Ethan also holds current certifications in the Functional Movement System, Selective Functional Movement Assessment, and Professional Rescuer Instructor for the American Red Cross. He has been a contributing author in peer-reviewed journals’ Athletic Therapy Today, International Journal of Athletic Therapy and Therapy, Journal of Athletic Training, and Athletic Training and Sports Health Care. Additionally, Kreiswirth has contributed to Ultimate Grappling Magazine and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Magazine on various sports medicine conditions. Ethan has been a national speaker on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu injuries, as well as a multitude of sports medicine topics at the National Athletic Training Association (NATA) annual symposium, National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) symposium and Association of Ringside Professionals.
