With 20 years of experience and insight into the way the body works, I act as a guide to direct patients towards their health goals, looking at all aspects of stress, trauma and well being. My knowledge has been shaped by both professional and personal experiences and has developed a holistic approach to understanding how symptoms arise and have always sought out to provide the most appropriate therapy for a particular condition.
The approach I offer is termed physical medicine & active rehabilitation. Physical medicine is defined as a remedy for treating, preventing, or alleviating the symptoms of disease (dis-ease) of the physical body which often prevents people from achieve optimal movement and performance. Physical medicine is also what I provide my patients as a means of optimizing their movement, performance and health. By integrating a variety of therapies such as: Fascial Distortion Model (FDM), Instrument Assisted Fascial Release, Chiropractic Joint Manipulation and Mobilization, Osteopathic Manipulative Therapies, Contemporary Medical Acupuncture, Photobiomodulation (Laser), Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy; Frequency Specific Microcurrent, and Kinesiology Taping to restore optimal function to the nervous system, muscles and joints in order to reduce pain and promote healing. Following this, active rehabilitation is used and is a combination of exercises, postures and movement corrections that are provided to patients, ensuring that they are able to return to full health, i.e., rehabilitate your body and prevent further pain, dysfunction and any exacerbation of your condition.
A holistic approach does not neglect looking at the four pillars of health: Sleep, Nutrition, Mindset and Movement. These pillars are always looked at in order to ensure that people are meeting the needs their body is requiring of them to be able to heal from injury, emotional strife and achieve optimal well being.
