Dr. Amanda Massey is a graduate of Parker University’s Doctor of Chiropractic program in Dallas, TX. She has been using FDM in her practice since her chiropractic internship working with elite athletes at the Dr. Pepper Stars Center and the Texas Advantage Volleyball Club in north Texas. Now she is practicing in Austin specializing in preventing and healing injuries to extremities with chiropractic adjustments, fascial distortion model, flexion distraction therapy and cold laser. She is also certified to adjust animals under the supervision of a veterinarian.
Prior to becoming a chiropractor, Dr. Massey studied Biomedical Science and Wildlife and Fishery Science at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas. She was recruited to play for Texas A&M’s polo team as a freshman, and while competing she sustained a low back injury that restricted her ability to contribute to her team so she sought out the services of a local chiropractor that was also an equine enthusiast and fully understood her plight. Within several weeks of treatments, Amanda was back on the horses and playing in the National tournament for Texas A&M. This experience, along with seeing how beneficial chiropractic care has been for her equine athletes, is what inspired her to become a chiropractor. She fully believes that the body has the ability to heal itself under the right environmental factors, and she wants to inspire and help people achieve their personal performance and health goals. Each person is unique in how they adapt to stresses that are put on their body, and Dr. Massey is determined to find the root cause of the problem and tailor a treatment plan specifically for each individual patient.
In Dr. Massey’s free time she is an avid equestrian, master’s swimmer, lake enthusiast, eater of eclectic foods and a world traveler.
