A 2009 study looked at the descriptions of radicular pain and then mapped the patterns described by the participants. The regions examined were cervical and lumbosacral. The majority of the descriptors were either “aching” or “sharp” in both the cervical and lumbosacral regions. Some described the sensations as “burning” but it was significantly lower than the other two descriptors. Though the study has some weaknesses, it is interesting to see verbal descriptions of pain being recorded. Enjoy!

How could we related this to the FDM world?
